somewhere else
somewhere else is a one-act play that follows the abstracted story of anak, a child thrown into diaspora as an undocumented immigrant. as she finds herself alone in the american immigration system, she struggles to hold on to hope—and her dream of returning to a home she once knew. this play is a tribute to the indefinite grief that many immigrants are forced to hold as they navigate the inhumane realities of immigration policy in the US.
