faq
how is handpoking different from tattoo guns?
- they deliver less damage to the skin
- they take less time to heal
- they take longer to complete due to manual, non-electric ink delivery
- most people find handpoked tattoos to be less painful than machine tattoos
are handpoked tattoos as permanent as tattoos done with tattoo guns?
- yes, handpoked tattoos are as permanent as tattoos done with tattoo guns
do you repeat flash?
- yes, i repeat my all flash unless otherwise mentioned. i am more than happy to make adjustments to existing flash, just let me know!
how should i prepare for my tattoo appointment?
- eat and hydrate beforehand (don’t drink caffeine or alcohol, though)
- wear comfortable clothing (consider planned tattoo placement)
- if preferred, bring media (music/books/podcasts/shows) to pass time during your session
- my current space is not ada accessible :( to request other space arrangements, please ask when booking
- communicate any particular needs or concerns with me at the beginning of your appointment or before you arrive, so that i can do my best to accommodate and make you comfortable
can i bring someone with me to my appointment?
one guest is allowed at appointments - please let me know in advance if you plan on bringing a guest. no children or pets are allowed in the studio.
other things to know about your appointment
- if you need a break at any point in time during your session, let me know (happy to stretch or breathe at any point)
- my priority is you + creating an experience/piece that you love — if there’s anything that you need at any point in the design process/booking/session, just let me know!
how should i take care of my tattoo, post-appointment?
- keep the given second skin on the area for two to three days
- after removing the second skin, clean the area with antibacterial soap and water
- twice daily, clean the area with antibacterial soap and water, then apply the thinnest thinnest layer of aquaphor to the area. repeat until healed
- avoid submerging the area in water for two weeks
- avoid direct sun exposure to the area for two weeks
- after the tattoo is healed, apply sunscreen before direct sun exposure
